Blind Low Vision NZ is excited to announce that we won a Silver Transform Award in the category of: Best Visual Identity by a Charity, NGO, or Not-For-Profit.
As many of you will be aware, we were formerly known as The Blind Foundation and we discovered through a nationwide stakeholder consultation, that the name of the organisation led to a perception issue. Many believed that our services were exclusively for people who are totally blind. However, we offer services to a wide range of clients who are blind, deafblind, and have low vision. It was important that we convey this to the public and it was clear that we needed to change our branding to reflect this.
We kept the orange theme from our previous branding so that the public could still easily identify the organisation. We updated our photographs of inspiring clients and designed a new logo, inspired by braille and other tactile vision aids. More importantly, we wanted to ensure our new brand identity was more accessible for our clients.
At BLVNZ we aim to be person centered, collaborative, adaptable and accountable. All while leading the way for social change around accessibility and attitudes to people with sight loss. We think our refreshed brand identity speaks to that.
