What is it? Taste Test the Pathways

Meet Blind Cricket NZ Reps who will be visiting Wellington. On Sunday we will learn about the sport, practice fundamental skills, and participate in a game of Blind Cricket. A few other events are also planned for the weekend. These include a goalball session, social dinner and Wellington waterfront or Zealandia wander. You and friends/whānau are welcome to any or all activities. Haere mai!

Saturday 1st April

9am-11am, Goalball session (sessions run and funded by D-Sport)
Location: Queen Margarets College, 53 Hobson Street, Thorndon, Wellington
No cost

12pm – 3pm, Lunch and tour of Wellington, exact location to be finalised depending on interest.
Location: Either the Wellington waterfront or Zealandia
Cost: Subsidised entry cost if we decide to do the tour of Zealandia.

5.30pm, Dinner at Southern Cross Garden Bar and Restaurant
Location: 39 Able Smith Street, Te Aro, Wellington
Cost: Price of your own dinner and drinks purchased

Sunday 2nd April

10am – 1pm, Mini Blind Cricket tournament on a famous cricket ground!
Location: Basin Reserve, Mount Cook, Wellington
Bring a packed lunch and water for the morning.
Cost: free

What to Bring?

Throughout the weekend wear comfortable clothes that suit the weather conditions.   Be prepared for all weather. Snacks that suit you and remember to bring medication.

Goalball – long sleeved top and loose/stretchy trousers. If you have your own knee and elbow pads, please bring those.

Wellington wander – drink bottle and shoes with good grip and are comfortable to walk in.

Blind Cricket – comfortable, breathable clothes and sports shoes.
