If you’d like to get latest news, you’ll enjoy Blind Low Vision NZ’s Braille Mail newsletter. You can choose to read it in braille, via email or through the Telephone Information Service (TIS) option 351. To subscribe, get in touch on 0800 24 33 33 or email@example.com.
Send a braille message
Would you like to make a braille reader’s day by composing your own braille message for a card or special event? Maybe you have a family member or friend who would be thrilled to hear from you in a braille message?
Our Accessible Formats Services Team are here to help and if you would like us to translate your text into braille, we will happily produce an embossed page from your text and send to you or directly to your recipient. All we ask from you is a small donation to help us create your braille message and to support our services to the blind community.
Presentations and guest speakers
We also offer presentations and guest speakers for conferences, schools, libraries, businesses, clubs, and social gatherings. Our presenters/speakers answer questions and demonstrate some hardcopy braille and collage material. We have educational activities such as writing names in braille, decoding short sentences and jokes, along with resources like braille alphabet cards, bookmarks, and our Connect the Dots activity and information brochure.
If you’d like to arrange someone to come and talk braille, contact the Braille Awareness Coordinator by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We produce a braille calendar every year for our members. This is distributed free of charge.
Braille for business and government
We regularly produce braille documents for government departments. We can also produce restaurant menus and other business-related documents upon request- just contact our team using the button below.
Our braille library
Blind Low Vision NZ has a range of braille books in our Library. You can browse the catalogue to find a book for you.
If you’d like a personal item or a document translated into braille, simply make a request to our team. They will help you out.
