The metric system versus the imperial system. It used to be one or the other. Now, as technology bridges gaps between distant countries and cultures, we find ourselves scratching our heads on understanding heights, weights, speeds and even shoe sizes!

Thankfully Alexa is here to help to convert units of measurements on command.

How does it work?

  • Say “Alexa, convert [number] [unit of measurement] to [unit of measurement].
For example, you can say “Alexa, convert 5 feet to metres.”

Alexa will then provide the conversion for you. In the example above, Alexa would say “5 feet is equal to 1.524 metres.”

Alexa can only convert units of measurement within the same category, such as length to length or weight to weight. In addition, Alexa can also help with the definition of a unit of measurement or for the abbreviation of a unit of measurement.

With Alexa’s help, you can save time and avoid the hassle of having to manually calculate conversions yourself. Following foreign recipes or finding that perfect fitting pair of shoes has just gotten easier!
