These are the results from the Returning Officer on 13 November 2023.

The Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind’s Annual General Meeting took place in Christchurch and via Zoom on Saturday 11 November 2023.

At that meeting, three seats became vacant on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, all by reason of cyclical rotation. There were a total of 8 candidates who sought election and an election was duly undertaken. Voting in the ballot closed on Friday 3 November 2023.

Election Results

A total of 1,000 valid individual votes were received. The successful candidates were:

  • Martine Abel-Williamson: 197 votes
  • Donna McCaskill: 159 votes
  • Chris Orr: 173 votes

The Board congratulates Martine and Donna on their re-election, and welcomes new director, Chris Orr, to the Board. Brief updated biographies of all directors will be available shortly on the Governance page of the Blind Low Vision NZ website.
