The RNZFB Board Invites Your Feedback on the Draft Position Statement on the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill

The Social Services and Community Select Committee called for public submissions on the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill on 16 August 2022. Translations of the bill in Braille, Large Print, and Audio are available on the Parliament website. Submissions close on 7 November 2022. The RNZFB Board will be making a submission on the Bill.

At the last Board meeting, Directors agreed to consult members on the draft RNZFB Board Position Statement on the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill (the draft Position Statement). Consultation on the draft Position Statement closes 11.59pm Sunday 25 September 2022.

Following the consultation, I will send members a summary of the feedback received and the final Position Statement. The final Position Statement will be the basis for the RNZFB Board submission and for the Blind Low Vision NZ submission to the Social Services and Community Select Committee on the Bill.
