When you meet 12-year-old Marama, it’s hard to forget her bubbly personality and love of life – and after your overwhelming response to her story in our Christmas letter, we know you agree.
We wrote to ask for your help to fund the specialist training that Kiwi kids like Marama need to prepare for the challenges of high school and beyond, and you opened your heart – thank you so much.
Marama has such huge energy for life – she is creative, active and musical too! If she is not creating art, playing guitar or swimming, you’ll find her writing and illustrating a story about her life. She is now confidently using an Alexa, navigating school with her white cane and using Blind Low Vision NZ recreational services such as a tandem bike.
When we told Marama and her family about the huge response to their story and the wonderful personal messages we received, they were quite overwhelmed to know that so many people wanted the very best for Marama’s future. They are so grateful for your kindness, as are we – thank you for always being there for kids like Marama.
