Liz’s second act; seeing life differently

Client Stories

Liz is standing outside in her garden holding her white cane. She is smiling, and wearing black pants with a striped jumper.

She thought the book of her life was closing. Instead, donations helped start a whole new chapter.

Liz connected with Blind Low Vision NZ in her early seventies when her sight had largely gone due to macular degeneration. “It did seem like the end of the world,” she recalls, “Everything I enjoyed involved sight. Just everything.” Thanks to kind donations like yours, Liz can continue her love of reading with audiobooks, and can also move around more confidently and independently thanks to training with a white cane.

“The support has always been really good and instant – it’s helped me no end,” she enthuses.

For Liz, ‘the end of the world’ is now a new beginning – all thanks to you.
