In-Sight Workshops: Build an Inclusive Workplace
Unlock the potential of an overlooked talent pool.
Around 17% of New Zealanders live with a disability or health condition. That includes skilled, capable job seekers who bring resilience, creativity, and loyalty to the workplace.
Blind Low Vision NZ’s In-Sight Workshop helps your team understand the “why, what, and how” of employing blind or low-vision talent — and gives you practical tools to get started.
Our goal is simple: Your organisation will be confident, informed, and ready to benefit from a more diverse workforce.
What the Workshop Covers
A two-hour professional development workshop held at your business. It includes:
- Your organisation’s corporate culture and values
- Your organisation’s “why” for diversity
- Understanding blindness, low vision, and common eye conditions
- Language and communication
- Barriers, myths, and what actually matters
- Tools, technology, and real-world examples
- Group discussion, activities, and lived-experience insights
- Facilitated by two presenters with lived experience of vision loss.
