Gino is ready for a new stage of training

After following Gino’s progress for almost a year, it’s time to watch him enter a new and very important stage of training. How exciting!

Gino is getting prepared to move into more formal training, and it’s a very exciting time! He needs vet checks and procedures, group training sessions, and lots of familiarisation with his specialist Guide Dog Trainer, with whom he will spend a lot of time with from now on.

In this stage of training, which lasts around five months, Gino will be able to show how much he has learned, thanks to the hard work of his puppy raiser family – and you.

Like every working guide dog, Gino must meet the exacting standards set by the International Guide Dog Federation. If Gino passes this next stage, he will be vetted to ensure he can meet the needs of a person with low vision. We can’t wait to see Gino’s skills shine!

Gino has a real spark for life and is always eager to please. We hope to see him progress right through to the final stage of matching, and report back the good news to his biggest fan – you.

Stay tuned for more news soon!
