Pawsome new partnerships for Paddy, Kimba, Uno and Sandy!

Paddy

Congratulations to Guide Dog Paddy – he’s graduated and heading off to start his career with his forever person! Thanks to your support, Guide Dog Paddy is now part of a life-changing partnership.

Paddy was lucky enough to have two amazing puppy raisers to help shape him into the wonderful guide dog he is today. This clever boy picks up guiding skills with such ease, you’d think he’s been doing it his whole life! Paddy absolutely loves to learn, solve problems and show off how clever he is.

His favourite party trick? Retracing his steps back from a destination to prove how well he’s been paying attention. What a smart cookie! During downtime, Paddy’s puppyish side comes out to play. He’s got personality plus and has been known to use his intelligence for some cheeky antics around the house. But that’s all part of his charm!

Paddy is undoubtedly brightening someone’s life this Christmas. Well done, Paddy – you’re a superstar!

Kimba

Here’s another heart-warming Christmas update – Kimba is now a fully graduated Guide Dog, too! Thanks to wonderful supporters like you, this gorgeous girl has been successfully matched with her new handler, and they’re ready to live a full, fun life together.

Kimba did exceptionally well during her formal training, even though she had a health scare towards the end of the programme. But this determined girl made a full recovery and came back stronger than ever! Now, Kimba is up for anything and embracing every moment of her new life. She’s busy learning all her person’s important destinations – the local library, doctors’ appointments, shops and malls.

Well done, Kimba! Your dedication and resilience are truly inspiring. Here’s to a wonderful partnership ahead.

Uno

Exciting news – just in time for Christmas! Thanks to wonderful people like you, Uno has started his formal training at our Guide Dog Centre and has been matched with his specialist Guide Dog Trainer, and he’s doing brilliantly!

Remember Uno’s biggest challenge? A year ago, this friendly boy wanted to introduce himself to every single dog he met. But after lots of hard work, Uno has made incredible progress. He can now be easily called away from other dogs and can walk past pups without so much as a sniff. We’re so proud of how far he’s come!

Uno began basic obedience and body handling exercises, and this clever boy is taking to it wonderfully. Recently, Uno also started learning early guide dog skills – like walking slightly ahead of his specialist Guide Dog Trainer while staying calm and focused, and stopping at kerbs to wait patiently before crossing roads.

He’s a clever, enthusiastic dog who genuinely enjoys his training sessions. It’s early days, but Uno is already developing all the vital skills needed to guide a person who is blind, deafblind or has low vision.

Thank you for helping Uno reach this wonderful milestone. Your kind donations are transforming enthusiastic pups into confident Guide Dogs!

Sandy

Sandy has found her perfect calling as a much-loved companion dog! This sweet girl just enjoyed chilling and playing more than being a working Guide Dog. But don’t worry – she absolutely adores her comfy new forever home and loving family.

Sandy is still the same gorgeous, loving dog – she just gets to enjoy life at a more relaxed pace. Think leisurely walks, plenty of sunshine naps, and all the doggy fun without a care in the world.

Some career change dogs go on to other service roles, such as Vision Loss Assistance Dogs, mobility dogs, or even customs and aviation security work. But Sandy? She found her calling as a beloved family pet.

Enjoy your well-deserved career change, Sandy. You’re one special girl!
