Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with an eye condition and aren’t sure what’s next?
Has your eyesight changed, making it difficult to do the things that matter to you, even with your glasses?
We are here to help.
How we help
Our specialists help you to make the most of your vision and continue doing the things that are important to you. You can access support as your needs and goals change over time.
Our team will work with you and where appropriate, your whānau, to develop a plan of action so you can access the services and support that meet your goals.
Blind Low Vision NZ services are free to all clients upon registration.
We can help with:
• Learning easier ways to do things at home
• Getting around your community confidently and safely
• Using your phone, computer and technology
• Finding the best magnification, lighting and vision aids for you
• Meeting others who have gone through a similar experience
Additional services:
• Access an extensive audio library of books, magazines and newspapers
• Counselling to help with the emotional impact of sight loss
• Sport and leisure options
• Navigate employment and study
• Support for children
• Support with combined vision and hearing loss
• Connect you with funding opportunities, including transport subsidies
Where to get services
You can access services at home, in your community, or in our offices across Aotearoa.
