To help you live independently at home, our team provides tips, techniques and information about useful products and skills that can help you accomplish a wide range of everyday tasks, including household organisation. Whatever your goals, we can help you achieve those safely and effectively.

Outside the home

We can help you with getting around, finding employment or making adjustments to your current work set-up to make it more accessible.

Staying connected and independent

If you need help to continue to read and write, pay your bills, manage your money or access information, rest assured we have technology and equipment which can make all the difference. They can allow you to stay in touch with the world – and participate in it. There are several options that might help you complete these tasks, depending on your specific needs.

Low vision magnifiers can be small enough to fit into your pocket or purse. There are also larger models, known as video magnifiers, for reading books, newspapers, and other information in front of you.

From clocks and watches to thermometers and calculators, these devices make it easy.

Our online shop sells a range of board and card games which are easy-to-use and tactile.

There are three ways to write braille. Using either a mechanical or digital braille device or manually using a braille slate and stylus – like pen and paper. In New Zealand we mostly use the mechanical Perkins Brailler. Find more information about braille here

Blind Low Vision NZ’s shop

Blind Low Vision NZ’s shop sells a range of equipment solutions for people who are blind, deafblind or have low vision. Clients can purchase items at a subsidised rate, so we recommend that they place orders directly with us.
