See how your suppawt has helped our pups grow.
Watch out, Isha. Your tail might fly off!
If enthusiasm could wag a tail, it would look a lot like Isha. This little pocket rocket’s energy is off the charts, and she’s putting it in all the right places. Thriving on the puppy training programme, Isha is always one paw ahead and ready for her next adventure.
In fact, if Isha had a favourite sound, other than hearing she’s done a good job, it would have to be the jingle of car keys. Just one rattle is usually enough to send her bounding down the stairs at top speed, tail wagging furiously and excitement levels reaching maximum puppy.
Isha works as hard as she plays, building her Guide Dog skills. She loves destination walks, where she gets to put her growing knowledge to the test. She’s learning to locate shops at the mall and can now find things like chairs and counters on cue.
That’s big good girl energy, Isha.
That’s our boy, Hamish
Hamish keeps growing and growing and growing into the perfect family dog.
This pup’s already so big, people can’t believe he’s not full grown. Hamish’s favourite thing is whatever his family is doing.
Whether it’s volleyball, football, netball, hockey or cheering on the Auckland Blues, Hamish is always happy to be on the sidelines supporting his favourite humans (and his favourite teams).
Twice a week he spends time with the Student Services team as a therapy dog. Just seeing his happy furry face is enough to make the students’ days.
Hamish recently had a small bump in the road when he developed a limp and needed a trip to the vet for x-rays. But nothing can stop this good boy, and his love for life is as big as he is.
Here’s to Uno!
Round of treats for Uno, who’s officially graduated Guide Dog training!
This clever Guide Dog has been matched with a teacher based in Auckland and has settled into his new home in record time. With his gentle, calm nature and silly, playful personality, he’s already filling his new home with plenty of laughter and love.
Each day, Uno proudly struts to and from school with his handler, catching the bus along the way. He’s become a firm favourite both in the community and at school, where he spends plenty of time soaking up attention in the office. Of course he does, everybody there adores him!
Uno is one lucky Guide Dog. As if zoomies at the local park weren’t exciting enough, he’s also gained a very special new sister to share his home with. A retired Guide Dog herself, she’s quickly become Uno’s bestie and cuddle buddy.
This exciting new chapter is a wonderful milestone in Uno’s journey and a testament to the dedication of everyone who helped him along the way. From his puppy raisers and trainers to Guide Dogs staff, volunteers and generous supporters like you, it takes an incredible team to raise a Guide Dog, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
